You Are Never Alone

I find myself at the old pier
On a lovely Spring day
Thinking of my father,so dear
Who has long passed away

Of all the days we spent
Laughing and gabbing
All those nights we spent
Enjoying our love of crabbing

So much has changed
Down on the old docks
I think of how I have aged
As the waves crash against the rocks

My feelings of grief wade in and out
Of the gentle breeze in the air
Until I take a good look about
And see a face in the rocks sitting near
Eat,pray, love and know the ones you love are never really gone and you are never alone

For my dad “Skinny” I miss you everyday
